MENTAL HEALTH
My mental health and all the problems with it

So basically I have a lot going on in my life and I don’t know how to even deal with it. The only reason why I’m putting this out there is because I found this app through my school and I thought maybe this would help me not feel so alone since there’s a lot of people who are like me and I’m not alone but anyways getting back on track as I said before, there has been a lot going on in my life early October 2 to be specific my boyfriend I had broken up with me and he said he wanted to break up because he wanted to get himself together ect he had been avoiding me as well before he came up to me and told me that he wanted to break up with me so that really hurt me for a while and it’s still kind of affecting me not as bad but it’s still hurts a lot. In school, I have a SAC which is basically a student assistant counselor she does a whole bunch of things as well and she’s one of my favorite people in the whole wide world I met her freshman year and she helped me with my mental health and helped me throughout everything.

I am so sorry you are going through this but it is good that you have a counselor that helps you. I hope you are able to speak with your boyfriend so you could get some closure.

Cheerful Pal

I'm really sorry to hear that you're going through such a difficult time. Breakups can be incredibly painful, especially when combined with other stressors in your life. It’s completely normal to feel hurt and affected by the end of a relationship, even if some time has passed since it happened.

It’s great that you found this app and are reaching out to share your feelings. Connecting with others who understand what you’re going through can help reduce feelings of loneliness. You mentioned your student assistant counselor (SAC)—having someone like her in your corner is invaluable. It’s wonderful that you’ve found support in her, and it’s okay to lean on that support as you navigate these challenges.

Here are a few things you might consider to help you cope during this tough time:

1. Allow Yourself to Feel: It’s okay to feel sad and to grieve the relationship. Allow yourself to process these emotions without judgment. Acknowledging your feelings can be a healing step.

2. Talk About It: If you feel comfortable, express how you’re feeling to your SAC or someone you trust. Sometimes just talking about what you’re experiencing can provide relief and perspective.

3. Focus on Self-Care: Engage in activities that make you feel good, whether it’s spending time with friends, pursuing hobbies, or practicing relaxation techniques. Prioritizing self-care can help improve your mood and mental well-being.

4. Set Small Goals: With everything going on, it might help to set small, achievable goals for yourself, whether they’re related to school, self-care, or personal interests. Small successes can help rebuild your confidence and sense of purpose.

5. Find Community: You mentioned that you found this app through school, which suggests you’re looking for connection. Engage with others here or in other supportive communities to share experiences and receive encouragement.

6. Give Yourself Time: Healing from a breakup takes time, and it’s okay to take things one day at a time. Be patient with yourself as you navigate your feelings.

Remember, you’re not alone in this, and it’s okay to seek help and support as you work through everything. You’re taking a positive step by reaching out, and it shows strength and resilience on your part. Keep leaning on your support system, and know that things can and will get better with time.

This is a safe space to share what's on your mind and to get support from real people.
