MENTAL HEALTH
potential not wanting to live
every time i think about the future and college, i panic really bad. sometimes j feel like i just don't wanna do anything at all, because it just seems repetitive and hard and stressful. it feels like i'm going to grow up and spend 40 years of my life hating everything and having to get up and be responsible, stressed, and i can't even be irrational because i'll be an adult and people will expect more from me . honestly it's gotten to a point where i'm not suicidal, but if someone offered me a chance to end my life righr now i think i would take it without hesitation. i really don't get it either because i wanna grow up and get married and have kids and live life like that, but i just want to badly to end it now while im in high school

It sounds like you are very nervous about the future, which in high school is very normal. It's weird that we expect people to decide what they want to do for the rest of their lives when they really haven't had many experiences to know what it is that they might like to do. Everyone is different so you may want to consider looking around and finding an area that interests you and where you can make a living. Your school guidance counselor should have some tests that give you an idea of where your interests may lie and that might be a good place to start. It sounds like you are actually looking forward to your future and have logical expectations about what can happen, but it also sounds like you're taking a very extreme stance about the job situation. Not knowing what you want to do with your life doesn't have to be a reason to no longer live it. You may very well find something that you enjoy and makes you happy. I'm happy to hear you say that you aren't currently suicidal, but should that change at any point, I'd recommend contacting the suicide prevention lifeline at 988. You may also want to consider looking into therapy since you seem to be so strongly concerned about your future and what you're going to experience in life. If you want to talk about this further, feel free to reach out to us via chat or phone.

Try instead of doing things all at once do it step by step so instead of studying a whole book try reading a chapter and take a 5 minute break when you need, and I promise you would be so missed and your loved I know it’s hard to believe sometimes but you really are

I'm really sorry to hear that you're feeling this way. It's important to talk to someone who can help you, such as a mental health professional or a trusted person in your life. Life isn’t always fun or perfect but there is a lot to enjoy and things always ger bettter.
