Mental Health
idk if this is just me, but as someone with mental health struggles i think about giving up and quitting multiple times a day everyday
it could be something as simple as getting up in the morning and eating breakfast to something as big as finishing my bachelors degree
to a certain point i feel like there is no point in doing anything anymore if none of it brings me any joy
everyone in my family thinks i’m strange for feeling this way
i go to therapy, i take medication, i meditate
when do these feelings go away or will they be here forever?
I am sorry you are having these struggles. It sounds like you are being supported through therapy and medication. Do you feel a connection with your therapist? Sometimes it takes a while to work through your feelings and start to feel better. As far as your medication goes, definitely let your therapist know that it doesn't seem to be helping. It could be as simple as a dosage fix for it to start helping. You can also try journaling too. Sometimes, it helps just to get it out and write it down.
You can always contact 988 for help if you are feeling suicidal. But please reach out to 2ndfloor too. We have an app you can use but you can always text or call too Our number is 888-222-2228. We are here for you to talk.
Hey, I totally get where you're coming from. It can really suck to feel like giving up on things, even the little stuff. You're definitely not alone in feeling this way—lots of people struggle with mental health, and it can be super tough.
It sounds like you're doing the right things by going to therapy and taking medication, and meditation can be helpful too. But I know it can feel like the heaviness will never lift. Sometimes, even with all that support, it takes time to find what really helps you feel better.
Keep talking to your therapist about how you're feeling; they can help you work through it. It's okay to feel this way, and it doesn't make you strange. Just remember that it’s okay to take things one day at a time. Some days will be harder than others, but that doesn't mean it will be like this forever. There’s hope for brighter days ahead, even if it feels far away right now. Hang in there!
This is a safe space to share what's on your mind and to get support from real people.
