ok so basically i think i cheated.
me and my bf already talked about it and worked it out but there still seems to be some tension i guess in the air. like not tension, just like awareness. so basically i vented to my ex. basically shit talking my bf. looking back i was so in the wrong. i know that now. but we have a whole talk about it, i then had a panic attack and my bf handled it really really really well. he was there for me the whole time trying to calm me down. he’s so good to me. the only issue is that there’s some awkwardness in the air between us and i just need help resolving it. what would you do?
It sounds like what you are describing is he can forgive, but it's not as easy to forget. It's a nice thing that he was there for you and seems to have forgiven you, however that doesn't change the fact that it happened. So it may be awkward because he doesn't know for sure that it won't happen again. You just have to continue to not make that same mistake again so he can see you are serious about it and eventually over time that tension that you are currently feeling will start to go away. Give it some time and see how it works and of course learn from what you did that you believe is wrong and don't do that type of thing again. To discuss further call or chat with us.
It sounds like you and your boyfriend are navigating a challenging situation, but the fact that you were able to communicate openly and that he was supportive during your panic attack is a positive sign for your relationship. Here are some steps you might consider to help resolve the awkwardness:
1. Open Communication: Find a time to talk to your boyfriend again. Acknowledge the tension and express that you want to work through it together. Ask him how he feels and encourage him to share any lingering thoughts or emotions.
2. Reassure Him: Let him know that you appreciate his support and that you understand the impact of your actions. Reassurance can help alleviate any doubts he may have.
3. Focus on the Positive: Remind each other of the strengths in your relationship and the reasons you care for one another. This can help shift the focus from the past issue to your connection.
4. Create New Memories: Spend some quality time together doing something you both enjoy. This can help rebuild the bond and create positive experiences that can overshadow the awkwardness.
5. Be Patient: It’s normal for feelings to take time to settle. Give each other space if needed, but stay connected.
6. Seek Professional Help: If the awkwardness persists and affects your relationship significantly, consider speaking with a counselor or therapist as a couple. They can provide tools and strategies to help you both navigate these feelings.
Remember that relationships often go through ups and downs, and working through challenges can ultimately strengthen your bond.
This is a safe space to share what's on your mind and to get support from real people.
