idk why but i have a massive fear of school shootings. i dont like thinking abt them, but when i do, i feel somewhat sick. my stomach starts hurting and theres nothing i can do to stop it. and i live in NJ, which nevr had any sort of school shootings at all i think. i even dreamed abt it; me being shot by someone and just falling. im scared to go to school now. can someone help me w/ this? (13 M)

It is understandable to have this fear but it sounds like maybe letting your parents know that it is impacting you this much so they can get you help such as therapy. I feel the same way and have also had dreams about being in school shooting and not being able to hide. I try to remind myself the odds are very slim I will experience one. Cause you are right NJ really has never had one. It’s very hard to see the news and to think about how scared everyone must of been and how sad the families are. Just awful.
