Sexuality
I want to tell my family I am bisexual, but I come from a long line of Heterosexual Gujarati Farmer Brahmins. Anyone who broke this line has been practically disowned by my family (example: my aunt fell in love with a Punjabi, no one talks to her anymore). All my friends are also homophobic. How can I tell my friends and family the truth without loosing them?
Telling anyone about your sexuality is a personal choice so whenever you feel comfortable to do it, do it. Just understand that you can't control how your parents may react so just prepare yourself for a positive or a negative reaction so that you are not blindsided by either reaction, and then if you are okay with that, talk to them. The same goes for your friends and if it is a true friendship your sexuality won't matter to them. I hope this helps you some!
