been dealing with loads of anxiety since early september this year had many ups and downs currently seeing a therapist and on medications i thought i was getting better but im getting anxious and panicked again it’s like a endless cycle i don’t want to be in i hate having anxiety i try to deal with it but it’s truly hard some days are better than others currently just dealing with the huge fear of dying it’s a lot and overwhelming but i just hope to get through this.
Anxiety can feel debilitating even on the best days. It may help, when you start feeling anxious, to ask yourself is this a rational fear? For example, everyone will die one day, right? BUT is it likely that you will die that day? Probably not. Are these anxious feelings I can control or ones I cannot? If death is what you are concerned about, that’s an anxiety you most often cannot control so does it help you any to become overly anxious about something you can’t control? Then you can shift your focus to something you can control.
It's completely understandable to feel overwhelmed and anxious, especially when you’re navigating through such tough emotions. Mental health struggles can feel like an endless cycle, and it's important to acknowledge that you are not alone in this experience. Many people go through ups and downs as they work towards feeling better, and it’s okay to have days that are more challenging than others.
Remember that seeking help from a therapist and using medication are positive steps towards managing your anxiety. It might take time to find the right combination of support that works for you, and that's perfectly okay. It's important to communicate openly with your therapist about what you're experiencing, including your fears and feelings of panic. They can help you develop coping strategies and provide guidance tailored to your needs.
In the meantime, try to focus on self-care and grounding techniques that can help bring you back to the present moment when anxiety feels overwhelming. This might include deep breathing exercises, mindfulness practices, or engaging in activities you enjoy.
It's also vital to lean on your support system—friends, family, or support groups can provide comfort and understanding. You don’t have to face this alone.
Keep holding onto hope. Many people do find relief from anxiety over time, and while it may feel difficult right now, there is a path forward. You are taking important steps towards healing, and that is something to be proud of. Please be gentle with yourself as you navigate this journey. You've got this, and there is support available to help you through.
This is a safe space to share what's on your mind and to get support from real people.
