My parents don't care about me. They say, "Go do it yourself. I'm not making food for you." and "Does it look like I care that those kids are bullying you? No." What do I do?
So there are many things that can be done here depending on what's going on. Are they starving you, in other words not providing food for you to eat or are they trying to help you become independent by having you do things for yourself rather than depending on them. If it is truly neglect and they are not providing food for you, you can report them to DCP&P at (800) NJ-ABUSE and let them know what's going on. If they are trying to make you independent, try figuring out how to make the food on your own and hopefully they can help if you have any questions. Bullying can be addressed through the school. Find out who your school's bullying specialist is either by going on your school's website or go ask in the main office. Report whatever bullying you are experiencing to that person and they will help you figure out an appropriate way to put an end to it. You can call or text us anytime at 888-222-2228.
This is a safe space to share what's on your mind and to get support from real people.
