My friends are always excluding me and not inviting me to their plans which makes me feel like I’m not worth it. and there’s been a lot of things stressing me out like this past election, My parents, and I really just have no motivation to do anything I would normally be able to do, what should I do?
Hi there! It sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Firstly, have you ever brought this concern of exclusion up to your friends? If not it may be worth it to do so and include how it is making you feel. Perhaps they don’t realize what is happening and if they do then maybe you should reconsider the closeness of your relationship with them. You don’t deserve to be made to feel like you are not worth it.
As for the other stressors concerning the election and parents it might be worth it to reach out to one of counselors and chat a little more depth about how they are stressing you. Holding on to these stressors without outlet can be contributing to your lack of motivation. If you are not quite ready to chat with a counselor you should try other forms of expressive outlet, such as journaling, drawing, talking with friends, exercising, etc. To not do so could intensify the feelings you are experiencing.
Remember, it only takes a SECOND to reach out ! Our live counselors are available 24/7/365 via call or chat through our app!
Hey! I’m going through something similar atm so I totally understand how you feel. I think the best thing to do is talk to your friends about how you feel and go from there. If they decide to start arguing, do not feed into it just explain that you feel a certain way and if they don’t respect what you have to say then you should stop talking to them. Try something new! Maybe that could help you regain motivation, like drawing or writing out your feelings! I know it’s hard but trust me it all gets better! <3
