it’s been hard everyday I been stressed and been struggling for the past few days I been overwhelmed I worry about my boyfriend and family constantly I worry something will happen to people I care about these thoughts have kept me up at night and even gave me panic attacks and made me overthink this the most scariest feeling I ever been through life hasn’t felt the same
hi there. thanks for reaching out about this. these feelings sound very scary and overwhelming- and we are glad to read that you stated you will be getting the help you need for therapy soon. counseling will be beneficial to you - not only to have a consistent therapist with appointments just for you, but also having them to help you create coping skills to get you thru the times you’re overthinking or panicking. a couple of things you can try in the meantime could be a positive distraction like talking to a friend or parent, doing an activity you like, taking deep breaths, or even the calm app on a device. you can always chat with us thru the app, post a message here like you did, or call us to discuss anything more.
Try to focus on the present moment. Right now, your loved ones is safe, and you are safe. It’s easy to get caught up in 'what ifs,' but worrying doesn’t change the outcome. Instead, focus on what you can control and the good moments you can create, if you ever feel overwhelmed, please don’t hesitate to reach out to someone you trust. Talking about your feelings can really help. You’re stronger than you think, and you work through this.
