LGBTQI+
I’ve lately been trying to figure out my gender if I’m male female or wtv but it’s just so hard and I’m anxious my mom won’t support me and worse my religious grandma
Hello, I am glad you reached out. Figuring something out like this is something that can’t be forced, it is a feeling that comes naturally. It would be much easier if you had the support from your family, but as you know that is not always the case. It may be helpful to reach out to our friends over at the Trevor Project at theTrevorproject.org. You can speak with a counselor specialized in this area about ways to cope with this uncertainty while lacking the support from your family. The most important thing is that you are true to yourself and give yourself that space to develop a better understanding of your feelings. Remember that help is only a SECOND away with that chat feature through our app anytime 24/7/365.
It's completely normal to feel confused and anxious (especially with Trump taking office) while exploring your gender identity—many people go through this process. Remember, it's okay to take your time to figure things out. Your feelings are valid, regardless of how others may react.
If you're feeling uncertain about how your family might respond, it might help to seek support from friends, online communities, or LGBTQ+ organizations that can provide a safe space for you to express yourself and share your experiences. You deserve to be true to yourself, and there are people who will support you along the way. You're not alone in this journey! 💖
This is a safe space to share what's on your mind and to get support from real people.
