How do I talk to her?

Recently I started liking this girl. She’s super sweet and we’ve been friends since middle school but closer since we had a class together. For some reason I can talk to her just fine in person but I am too afraid to text her. I want to hang out with her and get to know her more so we can create a bond before I even think about confessing my feelings to her. Another issue, I don’t know if she’s gay. I am a girl and so is she, I know she supports but does she even like girls? I feel like it wouldn’t be appropriate to ask but I really want to know. I just need lots of help, I’m so shy and awkward when it comes down to liking someone, I need lots of advice!

2NDFLOOR

Hi thanks for reaching out to 2ndfloor. The best relationships grow from friendships. As you hang out with her she will be able to get to know you better. You may figure out you have similar interests and things in commons. Who knows as you get to know her the opportunity will come for you to speak to her about how you feel. You know you need to be true to your own feelings and she will appreciate your honesty. So you can either move forward and date or can remain friends. It sounds like she is a nice person so either way it will be a win! Feel free to call or text 888 222 2228 if you’d like to discuss this or any other topic.

Bright Comrade

Be upfront about it. Just ask what her sexuality is- it’s a pretty valid question. And just take that leap of faith! You’ll never know until you try !

Cheerful Pal

It’s so great that you get along well in person, so often people can text but in person it’s ackward. I would just continue to hang, maybe if you als her if it’s ok to text her you can always send her funny memes and keep it light and see where it goes. Just be yourself!

Friendly Pal

Everyone feels awkward sometimes, especially when they're nervous. Just be yourself—she likes you for who you are, that’s already clear. And remember, even if it feels scary, reaching out can lead to something really nice.
