I have been sick with the flu for a week and it’s awful. I’m so tired, I have so much make up school work to do and every time I think I am feeling better I just want to sleep. I need more time and I feel bad I missed so much school it’s so stressful
Sorry to hear you are feeling so sick. The flu can certainly drags on and can be debilitating. Just know that viruses will take their course and end. In the meantime please make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids and resting. If you feel like you are not getting better please seek medical attention. Regarding schoolwork, schools have policies to provide extended time based on days absent. Please reach out to your teachers and ask for extension. If they do not respond have your parents email them as well and ask them to prioritize work, give you check list of assignments, and an extension for assignments and assessments they may have given during your absence. If you have an IEP or 504 Plan either you or your parents can reach out to your case manager for assistance. If you want to want to talk to a counselor please reach out on our 2ndfloor app or call 888-222-2228.
