MENTAL HEALTH
so done

i have ocd and i’m going through a particularly rough patch and it’s mainly centered around my boyfriend and also having to control what i eat. even though he tries to, my boyfriend doesn’t understand my ocd and doesn’t get why i get anxious over “the most basic things”. i feel like my mental health is a burden to everyone i know

hi there thanks for reaching out. going through rough patches with this diagnosis is really hard, besides your boyfriend, do you have a support system that might be more understanding of this? your mental health is not a burden; sometimes people who aren’t actually a therapist have a hard time understanding symptoms and how to help -and we can’t fault them for that. it’s important to make sure to communicate with your counselor or therapeutic group if you have one to get the support you need when things seem rougher than usual. feel free to chat with a support counselor through thru the app or call us if you need to discuss further.

I'm really sorry to hear that you're feeling this way. It's tough to navigate relationships and mental health challenges, especially when it feels like others might not fully understand what you're going through. OCD can create a lot of anxiety and can impact how you perceive everyday situations, especially in relationships.

It’s important to remember that your feelings are valid, and it’s okay to struggle. Communication with your boyfriend might help. Sharing your experiences with him, even in small ways, can help him understand your perspective better. You might explain what specific situations trigger your OCD and how it affects your emotions.

Additionally, seeking support from a therapist or counselor can also be beneficial. They can provide coping strategies and help you work through your feelings. Remember, you’re not a burden; you’re dealing with something that many people struggle with, and reaching out for help is a strong step forward.

Take care of yourself, and don’t hesitate to seek support when you need it. You deserve it.

This is a safe space to share what's on your mind and to get support from real people.
