Bullying

BULLYING
Called out

I have been dealing with bullies for almost my whole life but now it is getting so much worse. People make fun of me because of my Tourette’s and call me names. It makes my mental health so much worse because they put me down to a point where I ask myself are the things they are saying, are they true? Am I truly a freak for having Tourette’s syndrome?

2NDFLOOR

I am so sorry you have been treated this way. If this is happening in school, I would recommend seeking out your counselor or teacher and letting them know. By law they have to help you.

I hope you are able to share this with your parents and hopefully they could also help. No one deserves to be made fun of especially someone with a disability.

Please reach out to 2ndfloor to discuss this further. You can reply to this message board, use our new app to chat, call or text to our number. It is 888-222-2228.

Happy Pal

Hello! I am so sorry that this is happening to you, please reach out to a trusted adult! I’ve been bullied before so I understand your pain and frustration. Trust me, you are not a freak. In fact, I’m sure you’re an amazing, kind and helpful person. Please don’t be afraid to reach out to someone, bullying is very serious and you deserve so much better than that. <3

Friendly Neighbor

I'm really sorry to hear that you're going through this. Bullying is incredibly tough to deal with, especially when it targets something as personal as your health. It's important to remember that having Tourette's syndrome doesn't make you a freak; it makes you unique. The hurtful words of others say more about them than they do about you.

It can be helpful to talk to someone you trust about what you’re experiencing, whether it’s a friend, family member, or a mental health professional. You deserve support and understanding. Remember, you are not alone, and there are people who can help you navigate through this difficult time. Your worth is not defined by others' opinions, and you have every right to be proud of who you are.

This is a safe space to share what's on your mind and to get support from real people.
